Café Eccell changes name. Strawberry tarts remain on menu.

Café Eccell: For more than 30 years we have proudly served this community under the Cafe Eccell name. This town has changed a lot since 1989, and we’ve been honored to have a front row seat to both watch and participate in many of those changes. If the walls of Cafe Eccell could talk–what stories they would be able to tell. You and your families have been a part of those stories with us, and we’re truly grateful. Birthdays, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, baby showers, graduations, and so much more. We’ve shared a lot of life together, and we’re grateful beyond words you’ve allowed us to be part of your most important moments.

Over the last few years we’ve had a sense that what this market wanted and needed was changing. COVID-19 forcing us to close the restaurant really reinforced what the market seemed to be telling us. It forced us to do a lot of introspection and reflection about how we could best serve this community for the next 30 years.

To that end, Cafe Eccell will become The Local this June. Same location; and so many of the parts of Eccell that all of you have loved over the years. And yes, the Strawberry Tart will remain our signature dessert.

The Local will be a place for you and your family to dine, drink, and play. More than just food and beverages, The Local will be a place to come and make new memories together. It will be a true experience each and every visit. The menu will include several of our Cafe Eccell classics and will overall be both approachable and affordable for more than just a special occasion. We truly believe the best is yet to come, and we cannot wait to open our doors again soon to welcome you back. Same great service, same love for this community, new name. Here’s to 30 more years of memories together.
